The Man in the Helmet, by Desmond Young. The career story of Sir Robert H. Davis who joined the Siebe Gorman company at aged 11 and worked at the company for 81 years, 1881-1962, and retired as Chairman. His career covered developments during two world wars, the introduction of several new items of diving equipment including the Siebe Gorman 6 bolt helmet, and his series of Diving Manuals and editions of Deep Diving & Submarine Operations books. Only published in this one 1963 edition, hardbound with gold embossed lettering, in its original dust jacket in a protective sleeve. 224 pages with black and white photos. The book is in excellent condition with no foxing, and dust jacket in very good condition with a small piece missing on the top front by the M of Man. An essential book for any library on helmet diving and very difficult to ever find in this condition.
