This authentic Soviet diving helmet, manufactured in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) at Factory 28 in 1990, is a prime example of the popular 3-bolt design favored by the Soviet Navy. Its rich copper patina and brass hardware showcase a unique hand-hammered finish.
Original components are present, including the window frames, faceplate, glass, 3-bolt nuts, and top handle. The removable internal air vent is not present. The helmet's copper body is in excellent condition with only handling wear present. The bonnet and breastplate fit seamlessly and the large rubber neck ring gasket is intact.
Russian diving helmets are becoming increasingly sought after, and the DESCO neck dam offers a convenient option for using this helmet without a bulky suit. This historical piece of Cold War equipment represents a great value and is a must-have for diving enthusiasts and collectors.
The display stand shown in the photos is available at a discounted price with the purchase of this helmet.
All helmets sold by Nations Attic Inc. will have a certificate of authenticity (COA). This COA will have a serial # on it that will match the # on a tamperproof holographic decal placed on the inside of the helmet. This level of security and long-term assurance of the helmet’s authenticity is unmatched in the industry and very important to us.
